A Shared Channel with Concurrent Read/WritersWe present an example involving processes reading and writing to a shared channel. A channel may have at most one reader reading, and at most one writer writing at any one time; however a number of processes may be waiting to read from, or write to, the channel. In our most abstract model data is transferred as a block in a single atomic step. A write event constitutes moving a block from a writing process to a channel buffer; and a read event constitutes
moving a block from a channel buffer to a reader. The atomicity of the read and write activity is altered in the refinement - we introduce blocks that are made up of packets, and each packet is written to the channel individually. This allows the reader to begin reading as soon as there is data in the channel - without the
writer having to complete the data transfer. We continue with an overview of our implementation notation (OCB), and show the implementation level specification for the concurrent read/writers example. We then present details of the implementation level refinement that results from the translation of the OCB model into Event-B, and also show details of the source code generated by the Java translator.Andrew Edmundsae2@ecs.soton.ac.ukMichael Butlermjb@ecs.soton.ac.uk2008-08-20T10:08:47Z2010-04-19T15:05:50Zhttp://deploy-eprints.ecs.soton.ac.uk/id/eprint/31This item is in the repository with the URL: http://deploy-eprints.ecs.soton.ac.uk/id/eprint/312008-08-20T10:08:47ZLink State Routing DevelopmentThai Son Hoanghtson@inf.ethz.chDavid Basinbasin@inf.ethz.chHironobu KurumaJean-Raymond Abrialjabrial@inf.ethz.ch2009-01-22T09:59:44Z2010-04-19T15:05:52Zhttp://deploy-eprints.ecs.soton.ac.uk/id/eprint/73This item is in the repository with the URL: http://deploy-eprints.ecs.soton.ac.uk/id/eprint/732009-01-22T09:59:44ZRODIN platform archive of SSF pilot (by SSF)Dubravka IlicKimmo Varpaaniemi2009-01-15T15:55:55Z2010-04-19T15:05:52Zhttp://deploy-eprints.ecs.soton.ac.uk/id/eprint/57This item is in the repository with the URL: http://deploy-eprints.ecs.soton.ac.uk/id/eprint/572009-01-15T15:55:55ZUML-B Version of SSF Mini-pilotMichael Butler2008-01-07T11:30:06Z2010-04-19T15:05:49Zhttp://deploy-eprints.ecs.soton.ac.uk/id/eprint/9This item is in the repository with the URL: http://deploy-eprints.ecs.soton.ac.uk/id/eprint/92008-01-07T11:30:06ZRedevelopment of an Industrial Case Study Using Event-B and RodinCDIS is a commercial air traffic information system that was developed using formal methods 15 years ago by Praxis, and it is still in operation today. This system is an example of an industrial scale system that has been developed using formal methods. In particular, the functional requirements of the system were specified using VVSL -- a variant of VDM. A subset of the original specification has been chosen to be reconstructed on the Rodin platform based on the new Event-B formalism. The goal of our reconstruction was to overcome three key difficulties of the original formalisation, namely the difficulty of comprehending the original specification, the lack of any mechanical proof of the consistency of the specification and the difficulty of dealing with distribution and atomicity refinement. In this paper we elucidate how a new formal notation and tool can help to overcome these difficulties.Abdolbaghi RezazadehMichael ButlerNeil Evans2009-01-15T16:00:19Z2010-04-19T15:05:52Zhttp://deploy-eprints.ecs.soton.ac.uk/id/eprint/58This item is in the repository with the URL: http://deploy-eprints.ecs.soton.ac.uk/id/eprint/582009-01-15T16:00:19ZNew Event-B Project for SSF PilotLinas LaibinisLinas.Laibinis@abo.fi2009-01-15T16:31:07Z2010-04-19T15:05:52Zhttp://deploy-eprints.ecs.soton.ac.uk/id/eprint/59This item is in the repository with the URL: http://deploy-eprints.ecs.soton.ac.uk/id/eprint/592009-01-15T16:31:07ZEvent-B Project SSF Mini-pilotAlexei Iliasov"Alexei Iliasov" <Alexei.Iliasov@newcastle.ac.uk>2009-01-15T21:49:27Z2010-04-19T15:05:52Zhttp://deploy-eprints.ecs.soton.ac.uk/id/eprint/61This item is in the repository with the URL: http://deploy-eprints.ecs.soton.ac.uk/id/eprint/612009-01-15T21:49:27ZTraining material: A Simple Lyra ProjectLinas LaibinisLinas.Laibinis@abo.fiElena TroubitsynaElena.Troubitsyna@abo.fi2009-01-16T12:41:08Z2010-04-19T15:05:52Zhttp://deploy-eprints.ecs.soton.ac.uk/id/eprint/62This item is in the repository with the URL: http://deploy-eprints.ecs.soton.ac.uk/id/eprint/622009-01-16T12:41:08ZEvent-B Project SSF Mini-pilot (Aabo)Linas LaibinisLinas.Laibinis@abo.fiElena TroubitsynaElena.Troubitsyna@abo.fi2009-01-24T10:25:46Z2010-04-19T15:05:52Zhttp://deploy-eprints.ecs.soton.ac.uk/id/eprint/77This item is in the repository with the URL: http://deploy-eprints.ecs.soton.ac.uk/id/eprint/772009-01-24T10:25:46ZEvent-B Models BepiColombo pilot (by SSF)Dubravka IlicKimmo Varpaaniemi2010-06-14T10:29:35Z2010-06-14T10:29:35Zhttp://deploy-eprints.ecs.soton.ac.uk/id/eprint/230This item is in the repository with the URL: http://deploy-eprints.ecs.soton.ac.uk/id/eprint/2302010-06-14T10:29:35ZDevelopment of Question/Response Protocol with using pattern approachThai Son Hoanghtson@inf.ethz.ch2009-06-29T16:31:12Z2010-04-19T15:05:56Zhttp://deploy-eprints.ecs.soton.ac.uk/id/eprint/128This item is in the repository with the URL: http://deploy-eprints.ecs.soton.ac.uk/id/eprint/1282009-06-29T16:31:12ZEvent-B model of the Buyer / Seller B2B CommunicationThai Son Hoanghtson@inf.ethz.ch2009-06-29T16:38:40Z2010-04-19T15:05:56Zhttp://deploy-eprints.ecs.soton.ac.uk/id/eprint/129This item is in the repository with the URL: http://deploy-eprints.ecs.soton.ac.uk/id/eprint/1292009-06-29T16:38:40ZEvent-B model of the Order/Supply Chain A2A CommunicationAndreas Fürstafuerst@student.ethz.ch2009-07-22T17:23:07Z2010-04-19T15:05:56Zhttp://deploy-eprints.ecs.soton.ac.uk/id/eprint/138This item is in the repository with the URL: http://deploy-eprints.ecs.soton.ac.uk/id/eprint/1382009-07-22T17:23:07ZDoing Mathematics with the Rodin PlatformProof of Well-ordering theorem in RodinJean-Raymond Abrial2009-07-23T13:27:49Z2010-04-19T15:05:56Zhttp://deploy-eprints.ecs.soton.ac.uk/id/eprint/139This item is in the repository with the URL: http://deploy-eprints.ecs.soton.ac.uk/id/eprint/1392009-07-23T13:27:49ZA-Style Decomposition ExamplesCarine Pascal2009-09-21T15:42:14Z2010-04-19T15:05:57Zhttp://deploy-eprints.ecs.soton.ac.uk/id/eprint/152This item is in the repository with the URL: http://deploy-eprints.ecs.soton.ac.uk/id/eprint/1522009-09-21T15:42:14ZProof Assisted Model Checking for BThe archives contain the models for proof supported model checking.
